There is no cookie banner
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. So there is nothing to ask your permission for, and no box asking for it.
That is a decision, not an oversight. Permission is only needed when a site puts something on your device or reads something off it — § 25 TDDDG in Germany, article 11.7a of the Telecommunicatiewet in the Netherlands. This site does neither, so the question never comes up.
That was measured, page by page, in a clean browser: no cookies, nothing written to browser storage, no request to any other company’s servers. No analytics. No advertising. No social buttons, embeds or pixels. The typefaces and the photographs come from this site.

I am the controller for this site within the meaning of the GDPR (DSGVO). The full legal details are in the Impressum.
Hosting
The site is a set of files, served by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, on their Pages service. Their servers necessarily see your IP address, which page you asked for, your browser type and the time — a server cannot send you a page without knowing where to send it — and hold that briefly to serve the site and to keep it standing up. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, my interest in a site that works. Cloudflare acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR and transfers data outside the EEA on Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR. I have no analytics account and no visitor statistics of my own.
The newsletter box
If you type your address into the box at the bottom of any page, your browser sends it straight to Kit (ConvertKit, LLC), 750 N. San Vicente Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069, USA, who run the mailing list. Nothing passes through this site on the way — there is no server here to pass through.
Kit then emails you to confirm. You are only on the list once you click the link in that email. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, your consent, given by sending the form. Unsubscribe from any email, or write to contact@christiani.com, and your address is deleted. Kit transfers data to the USA on Standard Contractual Clauses; their notice is at kit.com/privacy.
Booking a call
“Book a call” is a link to Notion Calendar, run by Notion Labs, Inc., USA. Clicking it takes you off this site, and what happens there is covered by their notice, not this one. Nothing about you is sent to them until you click.
Writing to me
If you email me, I keep your message and your address for as long as it takes to deal with it, and for as long as we are still in contact after that. I do not pass it on. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where we are talking about working together, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f). German commercial and tax law makes me keep some business correspondence for six to ten years (HGB, AO); that applies to invoices and contracts, not to a note that came to nothing.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you (Art. 15), to correct it (Art. 16), to delete it (Art. 17), to restrict what I do with it (Art. 18), to hand it over in a portable form (Art. 20), and to object to anything I do on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 21). Write to contact@christiani.com and I will answer within a month.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Germany that is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (ldi.nrw.de). In the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
When this changes
When something about the site changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no version of this where reading on counts as agreeing to something.
